In recent years, the definition of “modern” wellness has evolved to include mind, body, and soul. This philosophy, however, is ancient and is what Eastern medicine has been using for thousands of years. As the practices seep into the Western world, they have been empirically tested and verified for efficacy.

no. 123 Ingredients: Codonopsis, Astragalus, Atractylodes, Bupleurum, Angelica Sinensis, Tangerine Peel, Jujube, Black Cohosh Rhizome, Licorice, Ethanol Alcohol, Water, Honey, Acacia Vera

For no. 123, our tincture is a modified version of the classic Bu Zhong Yi Qi San, which has been used in Eastern medicine for thousands of years. We’ve modernized this formula to create strengthening, energizing formula that helps those with loose stools possibly associated with fatigue, belching and abdominal pain.

This formula is a modernized version of Bu Zhong Yi Qi San. It is a strengthening formula that can help with loose stools associated with headache, fatigue, belching and lack of energy. This formula is designed to be used as a comprehensive daily supplement.

Studies have shown:

  • Atractylodes have been shown to reduce inflammation and inflammation-related pain and  help improve low appetite. Keeping in mind that each of these conditions can be somatic manifestations of stress, atractylodes are doubly useful when treating stress-induced digestive upset. That’s because it both eliminates the symptom and treats the underlying stress-trauma causing it (because it’s an adaptogen, so it helps fight the emotional and physical effects of stress). This also means that atractylodes make a useful sleep-aid (really, a sedative) for folks struggling with stress-related sleep loss.

  • Codonopsis contains polyacetylenes, essential oils, polysaccharides, inulin, saponins, scutellarein, and  flavones. Due to the extensive benefits, it’s used to improve appetite, support optimal metabolism, and help to relieve fatigue, but other’s use the potential antioxidant activity to protect against oxidative stress, improve vitality, and enhance the quality of life.

  • Chen pi, the dried mature rind of tangerines, is a celebrated supplement because of its nutritional value and sustainable sourcing; not only are citrus peels rich in calcium, vitamin C, fiber, and other essential nutrients, they are easily accessible and their use as supplements reduces food waste. What’s more, they have historic and contemporary value for improving digestive and respiratory comfort, including reducing nausea, vomiting, indigestion, diarrhea, cough, and mucus in the airways, as well as a topical treatment for skin inflammation and psoriasis.

Our all-natural herbal tinctures are made to meet OUR standards. The West has yet to create clear and consistent regulations to ensure the safety of supplements. With the highest commitment to quality, we made our own standards to ensure that all of our products were something we’d feel comfortable giving to our own children.

Goodness

Takes Time

Rebalancing your body doesn’t happen overnight. While you may start to notice improvements quickly, the full effect will come as you take the tincture regularly over time.

Our Herb Growing & Selection Process

We grow as many of our herbs in California as the climate and season allows. What we don’t or can’t grow, we get from the top-quality supplier, Spring Wind Herbs. We only use food-grade herbs and we apply the most stringent testing available. The herbs are tested for pesticides, herbicides, fungus, spores, mold, and heavy metals.

Formulations

Our tinctures have three main ingredients: herbs, distilled water & alcohol. For our alcohol, we use California produced grape spirits. It starts at 170-190 proof and has 0ppm total dissolved solids.

For our water, our filtration system utilizes reverse osmosis and deionization to produce water with less than 10ppm total dissolved solids. Some formulas include organic honey. It helps to mitigate the bitterness of some herbs and it emulsifies the high amount of solids in our extracts to keep them in solution.

Production Process

Our herbs are finely ground prior to the extraction process. Our closed loop system gently warms the herbs and solvent and pushes the solution through the herbs. Utilizing traditional formulas and modern methods, we coax the active ingredients out of herbs without losing anything in the extraction process, resulting in the most concentrated solution available. Then, we bottle this goodness in handblown glass bottles in California.
