Products

What is the shelf life of your products and how should I store them?

Unopened packages are good for about 18 months, but you should use opened packages within 6 months. But, this should be no problem given most of our products are designed to be taken regularly!

As for storage, you’ll notice our tinctures come in darker bottles. This is to help protect them from light. Close your bottles securely and keep them out of direct sunlight.

How and when should I take the tinctures?

While each product has specific recommendations, in Eastern medicine the goal is to rebalance your body naturally. As such, getting into a routine is ideal. Try to take the product at the same time daily. For the tinctures, you can either take it directly, add it to water, or put it in your coffee, smoothie or anything similar.

When will I start to notice results?

Rebalancing takes time. Though you may start to notice results right away (especially with lunawell), the efficacy will build over time. You can expect full efficacy after a few weeks.

Ingredients & Formulas

Where do you source your ingredients from?

We grow as many of our herbs in California as the climate and season allows. What we don’t or can’t grow, we get from the top-quality supplier, Spring Wind Herbs. We only use food-grade herbs and we apply the most stringent testing available. The herbs are tested for pesticides, herbicides, fungus, spores, mold, and heavy metals.

How do I know the quality of the ingredients?

We only use food-grade herbs and we apply the most stringent testing available. The herbs are tested for pesticides, herbicides, fungus, spores, mold, and heavy metals.

How are your tinctures made?

Our tinctures have three main ingredients: herbs, distilled water & alcohol. For our alcohol, we use California produced grape spirits. It starts at 170-190 proof and has 0ppm total dissolved solids.

For our water, our filtration system utilizes reverse osmosis and deionization to produce water with less than 10ppm total dissolved solids. Some formulas include organic honey. It helps to mitigate the bitterness of some herbs and it emulsifies the high amount of solids in our extracts to keep them in solution.

Our herbs are finely ground prior to the extraction process. Our closed loop system gently warms the herbs and solvent and pushes the solution through the herbs. Utilizing traditional formulas and modern methods, we coax the active ingredients out of herbs without losing anything in the extraction process, resulting in the most concentrated solution available. Then, we bottle this goodness in handblown glass bottles in California.

Do you accept returns?

All of our products are made of 100% natural ingredients. While herbs are safe for consumption, we always recommend speaking to your health or medical practitioner before introducing new supplements.

Are your products gluten free, natural, or vegetarian?

All of our products are 100% natural and gluten free. While most are vegetarian, some are not. Each product will indicate if it is vegetarian.

Eastern Medicine

What is Eastern medicine?

Eastern medicine is an umbrella term used to describe health and wellness practices that derive from the East. Eastern Medicine is a rich and diverse system which prevents, diagnoses and treats imbalances in one’s spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional health.  It has been practiced for thousands of years and it’s foundations include anatomy, physiology, pathology and therapeutics. As you can imagine, the breadth and depth of information on these subjects can be overwhelming.

For more information on the basics of Eastern medicine, you can check out this blog, or if you’d like to explore the foundational concepts more deeply, you can explore here.

Why should I use herbs and do they really work?

Herbs have been used for thousands of years to prevent and treat illnesses and ailments. In the East, they’re less concerned with why things work and rather focus on if they work. As such, the formulas that are used are those that have successfully helped people.

As these options began to make their way into Western medicine, they began to be empirically tested, and the science proved what the East has already known – they work. Plus, they’re also natural so they have less side effects.

For each of our products, you can view the science section to review the data behind each formula and its efficacy.

How are most people introduced to Eastern medicine?

Some people like herbal options because they feel better about using natural products, but many people turn to Eastern medicine as they grow frustrated with Western medicine. The one-size-fits-all approach to Western medicine lacks personalization and oftentimes efficacy as a result. As people search for options to live happier and healthier lives, they eventually find their way to Eastern medicine options. This is especially true for those with chronic conditions whose ailments impact their daily lives. They don’t want to accept a lesser than quality of life, nor do they want to be dependent upon harsh Western alternatives with major side effects.
